Matthew is a very talented top order batter from South Africa. Having represented the Titans Academy and playing premier league club cricket in South Africa, Matthew will be an asset to any team.

Matt is no stranger to the UK having enjoyed a season with Bomere Heath CC in 2022 in the Shropshire CCL and then returned to play in the competitive Derbyshire Premier Cricket League with Spondon CC. Matt continues to develop and now knows his game much better for the experience of playing in different conditions which has equipped him with the ability to adapt to any conditions.

A batsman at the top of the order, Matt has grown to understand his strengths which is not gifting his wicket away and being the anchor through his side’s innings. Technically assured, his patient approach waits for the bowler to err in either line or length and pick up runs through his favoured leg side.

Volker is passionate about his coaching and what he adds to a club through the week. He has a CSA level 1 coaching certificate and is selfless in his time to add real value to a clubs junior set-up.
