    Bio

Justin is a big, tall, skilled quick that plays first grade cricket in Australia for Ringwood CC in the Victorian Premier League.

At just 19 the Aussie paceman is wasting no time to impress, his first grade debut for Ringwood came in October 2024 and his impact was immediate. He returned figures of 18-5-46-5 against a shell shocked Casey South Melbourne side to announce himself on the most competitive of standards.

However, such an instant eye-catching performance is nothing new to Justin. Playing his first UK season (thanks to his UK passport) in 2024 with Steyning CC in the Sussex Cricket League, he got the opportunity towards the end of the year to play county 2’s for Sussex CCC. First up was Essex and despite them scoring 453, Justin took 5-65 off his 20 overs, followed by 2-42 in the second innings. He went wicketless against Derbyshire (during the one innings the weather allowed) before picking up another 4-83 off 26 overs against Glamorgan.

His season with Steyning was another learning curve to play in such different conditions. Born in Brisbane but played his formative years with Croydon Ranges in Melbourne, the Sussex Cricket League offered different challenges. He managed 24 wickets in the league season at an impressive 17.17 with his best figures of 7.4-5-5-5 recorded against Billingshurst CC.

It was his performances with Croydon Ranges and in representative cricket that caught the eye of Ringwood, who convinced him to join them in the Victoria Premier League.

He quickly made his way through all the grades to take his spot in the first grade and (at the time of writing) has taken 16 wickets at 14.69 in the 24/25 season.

At 6 foot 5 inches Beaton delivers the ball from a high release point and extracts plenty of bounce at more than useful pace. His accuracy is impressive, pounding away on a length looking for some nip off the deck.

Improving year on year, Justin is seeking another season in the UK to further his case for more exposure with a county side. Is also a qualified coach who does plenty of coaching in Melbourne and is keen to get involved with a Premier League side in 2025.
