Bio
Cheslin has recently signed for Kraaifontein CC in the strong Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) and is determined to make a strong push for first-team inclusion at his new club in South Africa.
This comes on the back of Cheslin’s first season in the UK when he received a late offer to join Helperby CC in the Nidderdale League Division One. It was a slow start for the overseas batsman but once he got accustomed to conditions there was little the opposition could do. In his last 11 league innings he made an imposing 538 runs at 59.77, including a maiden UK century against Ouseburn CC with 111 not out. He even filled in as a wicket-keeper due to injuries at the club.
Cheslin was given a sound platform for his future cricketing exploits by attending Newlands Cricket High School where he was exposed to cricket every day! He then played first team cricket with Tygerberg in the WPCA league set-up ahead of his move to the Premier League club, Kraaifontein.
Cheslin is generally considered a conservative batsman that takes his time to build an innings but has the ability to step on the gas in the shorter formats.
Keen on returning in 2025, Cheslin is keen to get involved with a club and while he has no official coaching qualifications but would be more than happy to work with the juniors or seniors.
