Anre plays at the prestigious South African club, Harlequins Cricket Club, playing in one of the highest club cricket leagues (Northerns Cricket Union Premier League) in South Africa which immediately demonstrates his ability to play at a high level and be exposed to high quality bowling.

A challenge Anre invariably meets head on with a measured yet gradually destructive style to his opening batsmanship.

His formative years were spent at Rooihuiskraal Primary where several Player of the Year awards were an early indication into his abundant talent and that was followed with an education at Pretoria Boys High School where he progressed through to the first team.

In 2020 he attended the SSE Titans Academy to help with his cricketing development which he has continued to do in 2023 and 2024 with spells in the UK.

Heaton Mersey of the Cheshire County Cricket League were the first beneficiaries of Anre’s batting ability with just under 700 league runs made at 36.21. That was backed up in 2024 with a run heavy season at Wednesbury CC in the South Staffordshire County League compiling 922 league runs at 48.53, including three hundreds.

Now enjoying a season down under, Anre is fully equipped for all conditions and aswell as being a dependable run scorer and match winner at the top of the order, he’s lightning quick in the outfield and between the wickets. He has a few years of coaching under his belt too having taken sessions for Harlequins under 11 and 13 sides.

Anre is hopeful of securing a club down south in 2025 having played up north and in the midlands.
